Tell us about yourself!
My name is Victoria and I'm a 26 year old photographer living in the South Bay of Los Angeles. I was passing through 3 years ago while traveling and the city just embraced me.
I'm incredibly grateful that my family guided me into my creative passion. My grandmother gifted me a camera when I was twelve and it was like looking into a kaleidoscope. Everything was more colorful and subtle; I wanted to explore that.
I love fashion and editorial photography for the opportunity of pure human expression through light in the eyes and body language. It's like a dance between my angles and the models angles. Every shoot is a partnership.
What inspired you to pursue your current creative path?
I've always wanted to feel liberated by what I do in my career. Whatever that feels like in the moment is what I focus on. I've already conquered a terminal illness, so I feel limitless with what I can do creatively for my mental strength. Painting, modeling, and immersing myself in cultural experiences outdoors often motivates me to create.
How did you find out about TGS?
I found out about TGS through Instagram.
I was captivated by Alex's instagram through my explore page. She wrote a caption about a recent meet up over the weekend. I didn't even know what a photography meet up was but I knew I wanted to connect with other creative and mutually passionate people.
Why did you decide to join TGS?
I decided to apply and join TGS because I want to learn, grow, and deepen my friendships!
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I find inspiration within people and how we impact the world or each other. Architecture can be challenging for me to capture unique perspectives so I like to expand my inspiration by utilizing the challenge.
Fave aesthetic, look or theme when shooting?
Movement and empty spaces are my favorite looks. I also love the juxtaposition between technology and nature. Contrast in general is my favorite. I don't have a theme that I go with when shooting because I like to evolve my style every time.
Do you have creative friends you like to meetup and brainstorm with?
I have been so open with my creative friendships and I've built teams of makeup artists, graphic designers, models, stylists, and videographers that I can always depend on to execute stunning results. We can all depend on each other to grow!
Random stuff about you?
Before moving to L.A. I lived in New Orleans with my wife and our dogs. I was working as a barista on Bourbon Street, and was an associate at vampire themed boutique where I would make candles and sculpt vampire shrunken heads out of clay.
We saved up and bought a 1982 VW Westfalia and traveled the country while we attended college remotely. After driving to the four corners of the US and cross country countless times we fell in love with L.A. and the culture here. Now we've built a home here to come back to while we're exploring other countries together.
