Tell us about yourself!
Hey I’m Kelly and I do Makeup and Men’s grooming. My journey actually began in photography. I ran a tiny Headshot business and noticed my clients regularly asked me if I or anyone else I knew could do makeup and hair for their shoot. For the elevation of my photography business I decided to teach myself makeup and hair and ended up loving it!

What inspired you to pursue your current creative path?
What started as a interest for editorial looks and runway makeup eventually evolved into a passion for red carpet and men’s grooming.

How did you find out about TGS?
Tgs member Alex Flores told me about an amazing community of creatives that support the growth of eachother’s art form and I knew I had to check out what that was all about!

Why did you decide to join TGS?
It seemed like a great way to surround myself with other likeminded artists and professionals

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Celebrity makeup artists and red carpet looks will forever be my source of fuel

Fave aesthetic, look or theme when shooting?
Casual, natural beauty or soft glam

Do you have creative friends you like to meetup and brainstorm with?
I’m lucky enough to have my closest friends be creatives as well, who range from writers to directors and wardrobe design

Most interesting story revolving around your creative medium?
This has nothing to do with me but I found this fascinating as a creative- I used to work for Dior and their professional “nose” or fragrance master, Francois Demachy, had created a very limited perfume which I had the incredible honor of being able to experience myself. Demachy’s intention was to mimic the feeling of Christian Dior’s childhood home. When you first smell it you initially smell fresh roses which had been planted in the back garden, then a waft of pine would come across which were the trees Dior’s mother had planted to line her garden. Finally you would smell the faintest air of ocean water in the background, which was a perfect touch because the home Dior grew up on was an ocean front home. Demachy was able to take something so simple as a perfume and draw emotion and memory out of his subjects. Being able to experience a true craftsman’s work within the cosmetic world was a great example of unexpected art, and a great reminder when i’m feeling uninspired.

Random stuff about you?
Hrm let’s see... let’s start with the most important thing- i recently got a kitten (Hooper, from Jaws) and a puppy (Remus, Harry Potter) and they are best friends who wrestle and play all day and are the loves of my life! Another thing about me is I’m a giant movie nerd, If you have a conversation with me that lasts more than 2 minutes, you’ll probably hear a quote from Lord of the rings, Alien or Scott Pilgrim. One last thing is I’m super sensitive to funny energy in a house so if you think you have a ghost, I can probably tell you the exact room it’s in.
