TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF

I’m a singer, songwriter, pianist, and as of recently I’ve been modeling as well. When I was three years old, I remember lifting myself onto the piano bench and playing “Heart and Soul” by ear. My mom saw my affinity for music and she put me in piano lessons when I was five. I also joined a classical choir when I was seven and started songwriting when I was eleven. Music was always an integral part of my life, but it became the most important thing in my life after tragedy occurred. When I was fourteen, both my father and sister passed away one month apart from each other. Their deaths will always be the most difficult thing I have ever and will ever have to go through, and the one thing that helped to heal my heart through the grief was music. Whether it was writing my own songs or listening to my favorite artists, music was what got me through their deaths and music is what inspires me to keep going today.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE MUSIC?

I never thought of music as being a career option until I attended Coachella 2013, which landed on the one year anniversary of my sister’s passing. I decided to go to Coachella to try and take a break and have some fun after enduring the hardest year of my life. I didn’t know that attending the festival would then change my life. When I stepped onto the festival grounds, I felt all of the happiness, joy, and beautiful music around me. I met up with my best friend and when we heard one of our favorite bands playing, we ran as fast as we could towards the stage. While we were running, it was as if my body shed itself of any depression and grief. I remember walking out of the festival on the last night and thinking to myself that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I thought it was remarkable that bands were actually able to make a living by performing, having fun, while spreading so much love to people in the audience. In that moment, I realized my calling and I’ve been pursuing it ever since. I’ve made two EP’s, one of which led me to get offered a publishing deal, which I signed in the middle of 2017. I’ve been playing in venues around LA for the past few years, and I attended Berklee College of Music as well.

HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT TGS?

In the beginning of 2018, I realized that I wanted to collaborate with more artistic people, whether they were musicians or other types of creatives. I began researching ways to connect with more people in that light and discovered the concept of a collective. I found TGS Collective through an acquaintance and once I did some more research on TGS specifically, I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of it.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN TGS?

TGS particularly stole my heart for a few reasons. It was important to me to be a part of a collective that made sure to treat all of its members equally, with a lot of respect and so much appreciation, and it was plain to see that those values were being upheld. TGS seemed like the perfect size - not too big and not too small. I saw that there were plenty of creative people to collaborate with in my area, as well as all over the country. I wanted to be surrounded by other creative people who were interested in creating beautiful art and also cultivating great working relationships and real friendships. I’m grateful that through TGS, I’ve made some wonderful connections and friends.

WHERE DO YOU DRAW YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?

Musically and visually speaking, I draw a lot of inspiration from David Bowie and Lady Gaga. As of recently, I’ve changed my genre as a musician and have been focused on rebranding. The genre that I’m currently honing in on sonically and visually is glam pop-rock. In relation to music, I’m currently obsessed with electric guitars, walking bass lines, and 80s inspired drums.

FAV LOOK, AESTHETIC OR THEME WHEN SHOOTING?

Like I said— I’ve been into the whole glam rock vibe as of late! My favorite visual elements of glam rock are bright colors, bold makeup, unique props, a versatile wardrobe, and flash photography. I also really love photos with a 70s glamour vibe. I’m just now starting to get into these types of looks, and I’ll begin to showcase my new aesthetic in the new year.

DO YOU HAVE CREATIVE FRIENDS YOU LIKE TO MEETUP AND BRAINSTORM WITH?

Absolutely! I recently had 2 photoshoots with a TGS photographer and my friend, Larissa Raquel. We shot at the Chateau Marmont and FD Studios here in Los Angeles. We planned the shoots for a few weeks with help and guidance from another friend, TGS Collective CEO Alex Morehouse. We focused on my new aesthetic and were able to capture SO many rad looks that I’m very excited to share. Whenever I’ve met up and collaborated with other TGS members, a genuine friendship starts to form, which makes it that much easier to create awesome content.

MOST INTERESTING STORY REVOLVING AROUND YOUR MUSIC OR MODELING?

The most recent interesting story I can think of actually happened with Larissa only a week ago! Like I mentioned, we had planned shoots at the Chateau Marmont and FD Studios for a while. Even though we were as prepared as we could be, sometimes life gets in the way and unexpected things happen. The day of the shoot at 4:30am, the makeup artist cancelled, which then caused Larissa and I to frantically search for a new makeup artist from 5am on. Everything worked itself out thankfully, and we were able to find a really talented makeup artist at the last minute. The weekend was still crazy and busy and stressful - Larissa and I were up for 21 hours straight! I was then taking Larissa home at what we thought was the end of the weekend when I received a text from a friend asking if I wanted to come and bring someone to Kroq’s Almost Acoustic Xmas Show at The Forum. I immediately turned my car around and we headed straight to the venue. What we didn’t know until we got there was that my friend was planning on giving us a backstage tour. After the hectic weekend we had, this seemed like it was the universe’s way of saying, “Hey - you guys did it! Now here’s a reward for all the unexpected shit you had to deal with.” It also felt like a full-circle moment for me in the sense that the whole reason behind the photoshoots in the first place was to rebrand myself as an artist. To end up at The Forum after a weekend of shooting made me realize that the ultimate goal is to end up here, performing on stage at The Forum and at other venues. To be able to experience that all in one weekend was unforgettable and even though it was absolutely crazy, I wouldn’t change it for anything.

RANDOM STUFF ABOUT YOU

My astrological sign is Cancer. My favorite holiday is Halloween, second to my birthday (trust me - it’s a holiday). I was born and raised in LA and lived in Boston for a year when I went to college. I eat too much pasta. I’ve given myself the title of Professional Bath Taker due to the fact that I know how to draw a mean bubble bath, all thanks to Lush Cosmetics’ bath bombs and bubble bars (and the knowledge I still have from working at Lush as a teenager). And if you think I’m cool, you haven’t met my mom.
