TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
”I started my creative journey in 2016 shortly after my son's first birthday. I had a friend take his first birthday photos and I realized up until that point I had no actual photographs of my son and all his memories were preserved on a cell phone. I went on Offer Up shortly after and bought a Nikon D5200 for $110 and that's when my life changed.”
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE PHOTOGRAPHY?
“After using the Nikon for a few weeks, I remembered how good it felt to create and so my next goal was to find other humans to work with.”
HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT TGS?
“This is where TGS came in. It was still a baby company at that point but I loved the work that they were doing and after meeting up with Alex for a test shoot I knew they were bound for big things.”
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN TGS?
“I joined TGS because it was nice to have access to a network of professionals in the industry who were all looking to achieve the same goals. It made it easy to connect with others and build up a beautiful portfolio and make some friends along the way.”
WHERE DO YOU DRAW YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?
“My inspiration usually comes from a single prop. If you look at my work you'll notice I’m drawn to antiques in particular. I can base a whole concept around a birdcage or a suitcase or a mirror.'“
FAV LOOK, AESTHETIC OR THEME WHEN SHOOTING?
“I’m really drawn to the nostalgia feeling of old photographs, particularly the 1970's. It’s so important for me to be able to convey that sense of 'home' in my work.”
DO YOU HAVE CREATIVE FRIENDS YOU LIKE TO MEETUP AND BRAINSTORM WITH?
“The first year I started photography I use to meet up with people 3-5x a week to create. However, the past year I started getting really busy with assignments shooting celebrity editorials and live music that I didn't really have a lot of time to go out to meetups. However, I always make time for my girl Christy Soeder, she is by far one of my favorite people to get funky with.”
MOST INTERESTING STORY REVOLVING AROUND YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY?
“Everyday is an adventure. Last year I did things I never dreamed possible; from meeting and working with Steven Tyler to doing portraits with Lindsey Stirling its all been amazing.”
RANDOM STUFF ABOUT YOU
”I’m a psychedelic misfit heart whos just trying to carve my path in this world. Don't be surprised if you see me hauling a jeep full of props around and dragging my talents out into a field to shoot in the full sun. I love working outdoors and prefer nature to studio work anyday. My soul lives in rock music.”
