This year we had the immense pleasure of hosting our first Unplugged event of 2020 at the absolutely stunning La Playa Carmel Hotel. We couldn’t have found a better place to kick off our first Unplugged of the year!

As soon as we arrived, there was a magic and a certain serendipity to this hotel. We could not believe how GORGEOUS it was!

A complementary breakfast buffet was on the menu every morning during our trip, and it was truly an experience! An omelette & waffle bar, endless mimosa options, vegan & vegetarian options & so much more. And did we mention a wine hour in the evening? Truly doesn’t get any better.

The views from all angles of the La Playa Carmel were breathtaking. Brief history on this gorgeous hotel- “In 1905, Artist Christian Jorgensen began construction on a stone mansion in Carmel. The home would later be a gift to wife, Angela, daughter to the Ghiradelli family in San Francisco.” Every night before bed we had turn down service, and they would leave a Ghiradelli dark chocolate along with a card that read the weather forecast and an inspiring quote on each of our pillows.
It was a dream.

We were able to explore & were free to create wherever we felt inspired. And believe us, we were literally running all over this property trying to capture as much as we could!

Alex taught the Creatives & Publication 101 by the poolside and did one-on ones throughout the day in each of the attendees rooms. This event was a bit different in terms of layout and allowed for a really awesome intimate setting!

After an incredibly relaxing weekend, on our last day we all decided to meet up at Big Sur for our last adventure & to say our goodbyes! The last day is always the hardest & it was particularly difficult saying goodbye for this one.

Safe to say this was one of our favorite Unplugged events ever, and La Playa Carmel couldn’t have been a more perfect place for our first one of 2020!
